As a designer, Reinoud Hulzebosch is interested in creating information systems that users intuitively understand and use, and that help them and their organisations to achieve their goals in a smart way.
With a background in psychology, cognitive science, and cognitive ergonomics, Reinoud is convinced that systems and their information should be adapted to users, and not the other way around. He is challenged to achieve this in business contexts as much as possible, proposing solutions that innovate instead of replicate technology. Not only user experience has his focus, but also how well users can perform, since that is often part of a business strategy.
Early in his career, Reinoud learned that multidisciplinary knowledge enables him as a designer to more quickly create designs that match a wider range of business criteria. This led to better design rationales and less design iterations. By combining various design, business, and development competencies he is able to optimise the design and development process and create information systems that are more effective.
With the current trends in artificial intelligence and advanced computing, Reinoud believes that creating systems that intelligently communicate and interact with users becomes a standard in the near future. This increases the need for a systematic, cognitive approach to information design and user experience design.
